Consumers are paying more and more attention to the quality and safety of purchased products. It leads to the improvement of quality of services on conformity assessment, hence development of new international standards. Besides, there is a growing demand for the activity and responsibility of accredited Certification Bodies (CB) and Laboratories.
During the 6th All-Russian Forum of accredited Certification Bodies, organized in Moscow on December 9, 2019 by the Russian Federal Service for Accreditation, participants discussed the measures for improving the trust in conformity assessment results and underlined the key role of accredited CB and Laboratories in the national accreditation system.
Therefore, Government adopted a resolution No. 1236, dated September 21, 2019 «About procedure for Certification Bodies to be accredited and included in the Unified Register». The new Unified Register will come into force March 2020 and will include list of CB and Laboratories, who will get a new accreditation. Parties not included in this Register may not perform their work in future. The resolution introduced also the Government’s powers to exclude organizations from the Register, if there are any facts confirming that the accredited person no longer meets certain criteria.
